Právní postavení gladiátora a otroka ve starověkém Římě
Original language description
This post was created in response to the film Gladiator. Gladiators were people who had no rights under Roman law and were mainly of slaves, prisoners of war or convicted people. This fascinating film shows the viewer not only the beauty of ancient Rome, but also the govrenment of emperor Commodus, which does not correspond to reality. The Oscar-winning film also highlights the fact that the gladiators were slaves whom the Roman law considered only a thing that belonged to the property owner.
