The paper deals with the definition of insects from the EU secondary legislation and Czech public law viewpoints to answer this question: Can the legal provisions be extended also on the representatives of insects? The subject of analysis is to assess whether these legal acts allow the subordinating of the insects under the term animal or creature. Moreover, an examination of how the European Green Deal reacts to the insects and the decrease in their amount will be provided, i.e., whether this document presents the benefit for future legal provisions or not.
