The article analyses the development of the program of Smer, deals with the changes in its ideology as well as describes the process of its "socialdemocratization" that occured primarily because of the international and European influeces. Thisprocess is still unfinished in the terms of program documents as well as in the terms of political practice, especially because of the presence of the elements of nationalism in its policy.

Článek analyzuje vývoj programu Směru, změny v jeho ideologiim stejně jako se věnuje procesu jeho "sociáldemokratizace", probíhajícího zejména v důsledku mezinárodních a evropských vlivů. Tento proces je ovšem stále nedokončen ve smyslu programových dokumentl a politické praxe, zejména pak kvůli přítomnosti nacionalistických prvků v jeho politikách.
