Mother's self-reports from pregnancy to her child's toddlerhood as predictors of her child's depressive symptomatology in early adolescence.
Original language description
Experiencing depressive feelings is considered normal during adolescence. This study focuses on early predictors of experiencing depressive symptomatology in early adolescence (age 13). The general guestion is whether mother's behavior and feelings towards her child and her experience of negative life events can predict the child's depressive symptomatology later on. The data have been collected within a wider longitudinal cohort study (European Longitudinal Study of Pregnancy and Childhood ? Czech leg)starting at mother's pregnancy. An adapted Czech version of Mood and Feelings Questionnaire (MFQ) was used to measure adolescent depressive symptomatology (N=605). Mothers' reports from pregnancy to toddlerhood included mothers' feelings and behavior toward the child, her experience of negative life events during this period, her marital satisfaction, etc.
