Challenges of Postmodern Institutionalisation for Education in Social Work.
Original language description
The chapter is devoted to the question: ?From the viewpoint of postmodern institutionalisation, what education topics are crucial for cultivating the ability of social workers to provide a specific type of help and gain recognition for its routine use insociety?? Following the concepts of ?social institution? and ?institutionalisation?, the social work literature view of processes of ?modern? and ?postmodern? social work institutionalisation are described and interpreted in detail. The importance of identity and role negotiation for the social worker?s ability to gain recognition for his occupation are substantiated by providing characteristics of postmodern institutionalisation of social work. Integrating the study of knowledge and ?technical? apparatus of social work with a reflection on its identity and exercise of its improvised application in negotiation within the postmodern context of multi-occupational nets is recommended.
