Lost Stability? Re-Alignment of Party Politics and the Rise of New Political Parties in the Czech Republic
Original language description
While studying party politics in post-communist East-Central Europe, the Czech Republic has traditionally been considered together with Hungary and to some extent Slovenia as a case of exceptional stability.By analyzing aggregate data, the main aim of the paper is to evaluate dimensionality and development of cleavage structure of the Czech party system and ? with special attention given to the two last electoral contests ? the possible emergence of a new dimension of party competition related to the rise of the new political parties.
