Original language description
Slovakia is EU country with very low percentage of foreigners living on its territory. Consequently, inhabitants of Slovakia do not have lot of experiences with foreigners and their views are shaped by various stereotypes. Integration policies applied bySlovakia display various shortcomings, Slovakia belong to EU countries with greatest challenges ahead as far as potential changes are concerned. Attitudes of Slovak inhabitants toward foreigners are structurally influenced by ethnicization of public sphere and by protection of etnicized ?core group?. Migration is framed in Slovak political discourse as a topic almost exclusively connected to security and securitization is overwhelming the political scene without significant differences between right and left political parties. Media in Slovakia play rather negative role in the process of shaping attitudes toward migrants and cultivating public sphere.
