Political economy of Czech-German relations : some trends and future threats
Original language description
The conventional economic indicators suggest that the Czech republic has been an extremely successful case of economic integration. However, the gap of relative economic performance between the Czech republic and Germany hasn't closed to any significant degree. This work suggest that there are some usually omitted indicators that explain this fact. Most important among these is the unusually massive profit outflow (compared to other OECD members) from the Czech economy. We argue that there are quite substantial potential economic gains to be made from nationalistic economic policies but that these policies are dangerous in respect to the Czech political stading among other EU member countries.
