Exploring energy poverty governance : Perspectives from energy vulnerable cities in the Czech Republic
Original language description
Given the expected growing role of municipalities in our energy future, this paper delved deeper into the question of the governance of energy poverty. Based on the analysis of 18 semi-structured interviews with representatives of the most energy-vulnerable cities in the Czech Republic, it sheds more light on the prevailing discourse at the local level. It explored how local actors perceive the causes and solutions to energy poverty, as well as their role in addressing the issue in a country with legacies of both the communist regime and rapid liberalisation efforts. The analysis also aimed to identify any institutional and normative barriers to effectively addressing the problem.
