Original language description
In my research for Syri, I focus on two specific groups of Czech journalists – editors and local journalists – and their reactions to the external and internal crises the profession faces and the resilience mechanisms these journalists employ in their work. My focus is therefore on the impact of external crises on the work of journalists as they understand and interpret them. But also the internal threats to their work. Above all, I am interested in how they respond to these types of crises and build their resilience. Some of the outputs of this research based on interviews with journalists serve as a basis for comparative studies (e.g. with Lenka Vochocová and Jana Rosenfeldová on external and internal crises of journalists and resilience; and with an international team (led by G. Perreault) on the development of the profession of local journalists).
