High bromide intake in the lactating rat reduces transfer of iodine to the young and adversely affects their development
Original language description
A significant impact of high bromide levels in the organism of the mother on the extent of iodine transfer to the sucklings was demonstrated. High bromide intake in the lactating rat dams caused a decrease in iodine accumulation in the mammary glands and, at the same time, an increase in iodide elimination through the kidneys.
