Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons as a factor affecting the Hill reaction activity.
Original language description
The effect of fluoranthene (FLT; 0.1 and 1 mg/L) on chlorophyll fluorescence parameters (F0, FV/FM, and PhiII), the content of photosynthetic pigments (chlorophyll a, b and carotenoids) and Hill reaction activity in pea plants was investigated. Pea plants were cultivated hydroponically for 18 and 25 days. The results proved that FLT affected primary photochemical processes of photosynthesis in pea plants: a decrease of Hill reaction activity, increase of F0 and decrease of FV/FM and PhiII and the decrease of pigment content was recorded.
