Oxidative stress in enchytraeidae (E. albidus, E. crypticus) - Establishment and optimalization of methods
Original language description
Oxidative impact of toxic substances is one of a main toxicity mechanisms. In cells, there occurs redox imbalance due to enhanced production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and/or antioxidants inhibition. Effects of this so-called oxidative stress are damage of substantial macromolecules (DNA, proteins, lipids) and subsequent disturbance of cells either whole organism fyziology. Some compounds from group of environmental pollutants (quinones generally, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and their derivares, etc.) can induce oxidative stress in cells of various groups of soil organisms. In the present study, methods for determination a set of biomarkers (GST, GR, GSH, lipid peroxidation) used as parametres of oxidative stress and toxicity generally wereestablished. Procedures were optimalized for real samples determination in two species ? E. albidus and E. crypticus.
