USABILITY OF ELECTRONIC LEARNING MATERIALS IN CARTOGRAPHY
Original language description
Together with expansion of IT (Information Technologies) at schools, it grows call for electronic learning materials. Most of them are made by web technologies. There are many online electronic textbooks in the field of cartography (various quality, interface, languages, etc.). One of them was also created by the authors of this article. In recent years, more and more web authors focus on the concept of usability. Web page usability can be defined as usage efficiency with which a user can perform required tasks with the page. The same approach should be applied to design and creation of electronic learning materials not only in cartography. Student attention should be paid to the content of the textbook and not to the user interface. The aim of this article is to compare selected existing electronic learning materials from the usability point of view. Results will be used to propose the most comfortable and user friendly interface for the users.
