The seismicity of the northern part of the Eastern Alps, the Western Carpathians and the southern part of the Bohemian Massif is investigated by means of the new seismic stations and a review of earthquake catalogues. The final data set of earthquakes covers the time span from 1267 to 2004 and comprises 1968 events in total. An attempt at a seismotectonic interpretation of earthquakes based on the geological overview of the region is presented. Gravity and aiborne magnetometry data in addition to seismic events are collected and cross-border maps are compiled and analysed in order to determine the spatial extent of these geological structures. Correlation between the epicentres of earthquakes and lineaments derived from gravity data is discussed for major historical earthquakes. Czech description

Seismicita severní části Východních Alp, Západních Karpat a jižní části Českého masivu byla zkoumána pomocí nově instalovaných seismických stanic a revize katalogů zemětřesení. Finální soubor pokrývá časové období od roku 1267 do roku 2004 a obsahuje celkem 1968 zemětřesení. V práci je presentován pokus o seismotektonickou interpretaci údajů o zemětřeseních založenou na zhodnocení geologie regionu. Kromě seismických jevů jsou shromážděna také gravimetrická a magnetometrická data. Za účelem zjištění prostorového rozšíření geologických struktur byly sestaveny a analyzovány mapy znázorňující situaci napříč státním hranicím. Pro nejvýznamnější historická zemětřesení je diskutována korelace mezi epicentry otřesů a lineacemi odvozenými z gravimetrie. Získanýsoubor dat nám umožňuje určit seismicky aktivní zlomy a nahlédnout do vzájemných vztahů mezi zlomovými systémy. Schopnost zhodnotit potenciálně seismicky aktivní struktury umožňuje lepší budoucí zhodnocení rizika.
