We have prepared methylene-bridged glycoluril dimers bearing two hydrogen atoms on the convex face of the glycoluril unit. A new method for the synthesis of 1,6-substituted glycolurils was developed. In the solid state, 3c and 2c form dimeric aggregateswhereas 1d is organized into three-dimensional structure.
