Subcellular and organ responses of plants to occurrence of organic pollutant
Original language description
The aim was to evaluate the effect of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon fluoranthene (FLT, 0.1 and 1 mg/L) on primary processes of photosynthesis in pea plants (Pisum sativum L., cv. Garde) on subcellular (chloroplast suspension) and organ level. Chlorophyll fluorescence measurements were done on suspension of chloroplasts isolated from leaves of plants cultivated hydroponically (Reid-York nutrient solution) and on whole plants cultivated in vitro (Murashige-Skoog medium enriched with 0.1 mg/L IAA or combination of IAA and 0.1 mg/L BA). Both applied concentration of FLT (0.1 and 1 mg/L) added into either chloroplast suspension or MS-medium caused increase in F0 value and decrease in FV/FM and PhiII. The response was more intensive on the chloroplast suspension level compared to imaging of chlorophyll fluorescence distribution on whole plant.
