Utilization of cryogenically cooled ablation cell for GE of metalloproteins with LA ICP MS detection
Original language description
Metalloproteins are responsible for many metabolic processes and gel electropohoresis (GE) is used to separate them. This study demonstrates use of cryogenic ablation cell for metalloprotein analysis by means of GE with LA-ICP-MS detection. After gel electrophoresis, proteins are detected by visualization in the gel. However this detection does not detect metal ions. The most complicated step of gel preparation for LA-ICP-MS analysis is drying. In case of utilization of cryogenic ablation cell, this time consuming step is removed. In this work, behaviour of gel in cryogenic cell at different temperature and other various conditions was studied.
