Measuring success in examination of mathematics using quality indexes of predictive models
Original language description
The paper deals with issues related to teaching mathematics at the Faculty of Business Economics of Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry. It defines good students as students who pass the exam in subject Mathematics I. Furthermore, it consider the result in a semester test as the score of a student. These markings allow us to take the results from the field of predictive models, especially the methodology of the indexes of their quality. For a measurement of predictive models quality it is possible to use quantitative indexes based on distribution functions and on density functions such as Gini index, K-S statistics, Information statistics (Anderson 2007; Wilkie 2004). The results of an application using these indexes are included and discussed within the paper.
