Modern technologies used in the field of cartography provide cartographers powerful tools which enable them to satisfy various users demands. Design of maps should react on qualities of user. One of possible ways how to produce user oriented map representation is letting users to choose their favorite symbols. Article describes process of complex testing of existing symbol sets on example of emergency management. Special software is developing which allows experimental testing of various symbol sets aswell as complete cartographic representations.
