Original language description
On archaeological investigation of Žuráň barrow (Moravia, Czech Republic) in the field campaign 1948 to 1950 a chamber grave was uncovered and labelled No.II. Even thought the grave was spoilt before construction of great barrow was built above it, veryrich inventory of the grave containing pieces of ivory pyxis, ivory plates, gold fibres, glass receptacles, silver spikes and more other artefacts was found. Discovered artefacts were dated to the 5th and 6th century A.D. Within the grave a female burialwas found. According the richness of accompanying artefacts was the buried woman a member of nobility of certain of Germans tribes which settled Moravia in this time. Anthropological exploration of her skeletal remains found at her left pelvic bone verystrange quadratic perforation in the centre of left acetabulum.
