ABC transporters in mES cells - possible role of p38 MAPK
Original language description
Embryonic stem (ES) cell express relatively high amount of ABC transporters, especially ABC G2/BCRP (Apati et al. 2008). Recently was found out that ABC proteins expression could be positively regulated by mitogen activated protein kinases, namely p38 subtype (Katayama et al. 2007). This ubiquitous enzyme plays an important role in regulation of mouse ES differentiation (Jinzhan et al. 2010). We came to the conclusion that p38 kinase is not a direc positive regulator of MDR1, MRP1, and BCRP gene transcription in mES cells.
