CHARACTERIZATION OF NOVEL LECTIN FROM BACTERIUM PHOTORHABDUS LUMINESCENS
Original language description
Lectins are proteins that bind mono- and oligosaccharides reversibly and with very high specificity, but in contrast to antibodies, they are not products of an immune response. Photorhabdus luminescens is a Gram-negative bacterium that is mutualisticallyassociated with entomopathogenic nematodes and pathogenic to a wide variety of insect larvae. The contribution is focused on characterization of the lectin from P. luminescens, especially on determination of the structure and function properties.
