Macrocyclic derivatives of glycolurils, and methods of preparing and using the same
Original language description
The present invention relates to novel macrocyclic derivatives of glycolurils, and methods of preparation and use thereof. These macrocycles are important for the field of supramolecular chemistry because they are potent anion receptors with a great promise for further applications. They are prepared in high yields from cheap starting materials and due to relative ease of substitution compared to other macrocyclic systems, they can be easily modified to improve their desired properties. They could findapplications in detection, transport and separation of anions and also in the construction of complex molecular assemblies.
