Barrier discharges operated in He/N_2 and He/O_2 mixtures: Investigation of discharge development, formation and decay of surface charges
Original language description
Relevant volume and surface processes of barrier discharges have been systematically studied under well defined and identical conditions at ONE discharge cell configuration. It enables the determination of the spatio-temporally and spectrally resolved development of the diffuse discharge emission via the electrically triggered cross-correlation spectroscopy(CCS). The investigation of the spatially as well as phase resolved formation of surface charges is accessible by the linear electro-optic Pockels effect. Both diagnostics have been correlated with electrical discharge characteristics. The Townsend-like discharge as well as the filamentary mode were studied in the gas mixtures He/N_2 and He/O_2.
