Evolution of diploid-polyploid Carassius auratus complex
Original language description
The presence of diploid and triploid forms of Carassius auratus complex in the Czech Republic is known for over 40 years. This complex consists of gynogenetic triploid females (triploid males are also recorded in very small frequency) and sexually reproducing form including males and females with similar frequencies. In this study, the C. auratus complex was studied from the selected lokality in the connecting channels Lednice-South Moravia situated on the Dyje river. Using molecular analysis of mitochondrial DNA (D-loop region) the collected specimens of the complex were determined as "subspecies" of Carassius auratus, C. gibelio, C. landsdorfi and M-line. The majority of specimen belong to the C. gibelio haplotype. We focused on selected measured of physiology and immunity including the specific immunity (IgM antibodies) and non-specific immunity (i.e. respiratory burst, lysozyme activity and complement activity).
