    Observed diagnostic characters in fossil coralline algae were discussed. Using of accepted diagnostic characters in fossil corallines led to proper identification of fossil species. On the basis of these characters it was possible to distinguish both, sexual and asexual plamts of the same species that were not known till now as fossil.
