Modification of Screen Printed Electrodes using Spark Discharge

  • Original language description

A novel way of electrode modification by electrical spark discharge allows simultaneous activation of the target sensing electrode and its modification by nanoparticles derived from the source electrode involved in the sparking process. Automated procedure using the 3D sparking affords dense coverage of the electrode by nanoparticles. The possibilities of the control of various aspects of the sparking process which could lead to control of the extent of the substrate electrode surface activation and/or damage, nanoparticle size and coverage density control are outlined.
