DIFFERENT GROUPS OF FOREIGN VISITORS OF SMALL-SCALE EVENT: CASE STUDY OF BARUM CZECH RALLY ZLÍN

  • Original language description

The paper focuses on foreign visitors of the Barum Czech Rally Zlín and whether there are significant differences between visitors from Eastern and Western Europe. As most papers focus on visitors of an event as a homogenous group, this paper brings a new approach by further dividing. Quantitative surveying during the 2019 edition of the event was used to gather data about the customs and habits of the visitors of the event to find out the typical behaviour of rally visitors regarding the accommodation, dining, staying in the event region, and their further motivation to getting know the region. Results showed that Western visitors are more likely to stay longer in the Zlín region and to stay in hotels than East visitors. Western visitors spend more money than East visitors. Common for both groups is that a motoring event was the only reason to arrive in the region for most visitors.
