In February, our SEG Chapter visited an ex- ploration project focused on mining and recycling former tailings after pyrite mining and production of high-purity metal Mn and Mn sulfate monohydrate. The project is operated by Mangan Chvaletice, s.r.o. These tailings are now- adays formed into three heaps and represent one of the richest manganese deposits in the EU.
