Gradients in species composition of Central European arable weed vegetation
Original language description
Factors determining diversity in arable field weed vegetation were studied in northeastern part of the Czech Republic on a data set of 174 plots. The species records were taken in 2001-2003 from 20m2 relevé plots situated at the field edges. As predictors, the climatic and edafic variables were used together with crop type and season. for analyses of gradients in species composition ordination methods were used. Gross and net effect of each variable were calculated. Net effect was tested by series of partial CCAs for each variable with other variables as covariables. The structure of species with the highest fit and score along the first ordination axis was analysed. The main proportion of variability in species composition was explained by crop type (cereals, and root crop). The second important were climatic variables, followed by season, soil reaction, and soil type.
