The enhancement of the European dimension in the national curriculum is a large scale educational innovation that affects countries in the European Union (EU) included the Czech Republic. The European dimension in education presents one of the most important and topical educational principles. The school subject of history has a great potential for the realization of basic European dimension aims in education. Therefore, this article is focused on the problematic of European dimension as the particulardidactic phenomenon in history teaching.
