This monograph deals with syntactic, semantic as well as FSP aspects of sentences that implement the so-called Presentation Scale and so present on the scene a context-independent subject. The basic aim of the research is twofold: (i) syntactic typologyof presentation sentences (Pr-sentences), and (ii) semantic-syntactic character of the presentation verbs. The work is based on a functional analysis of the corpus amounting to the of 207,366 words, in the framework of which 1000 Pr-sentences were excerpted keeping a proportional representation of both fiction and religious narrative texts. Research shows that the common denominator concerning the static semantics of such verbs is typically a tight semantic interconnection between subject and Pr-verb.
