Art, disability and culture ? the origin of the disabled artist
Original language description
This article deals with social and cultural changes in Europe leading towards new forms of art. The ideas of modernism and postmodernism in art transferred the European societies and opened the galleries for non-conventional ways of expression. M. Duchamp, P. Picasso, P. Klee and J. Dubuffet identified disability not only as an inspiration for art but also recognized people with disabilities as authors of art works.
