    The study focuses on one of the major activities of an agrarian politician in the agricultural sphere - on the contribution of Kunes Sonntag to the development and organization of the Moravian sugar beet growing and sugar industry. To understand his ideas and opinions it is important to have an idea of his family background, which contributed to the formation of Sonntag's personality that was closely linked to the Agrarian Party to which foundation in Moravia he significantly contributed. His name was long associated with the organization of sugar beet growing movement with the aim to establish, following the example of Bohemia, a unified sugar beet growing organization in Moravia. Especially these activities are described in detail, like his contribution to the process of converting Moravian sugar factories in central Moravia (in Kromeriz and Drahanovice near Olomouc) into agrarian.
