The influence of a ten-day stay in high altitude areas on selected biochemical and physiological parameters

  • Original language description

This poster describes the influence of a 10-day stay and training in high altitude area (1850m above sea level) on biochemical parameters (haemoglobin and its concentration, haematocrit, red blood cell count and distribution width) and morning rest heartrate. Three tests were completed, a day before, a day after and ten days after trainings altitude trainings camp. The study with a group of young sportsmen (juniors, n=10) has shown positive effects of a 10-day training camp in high altitude areas on monitored parameters. All the observed variables showed improvement immediately after their return from altitude to low land. The day after the return the significant increase of the values of haemoglobin (6,2 %), red blood cells count (3,5 %), concentration of Hb (2 %) and haematocrit (4,1 %) was found out. The hearth rate at the end of the camp was higher than before camp, but after 10 days of return the heart rate was lower than before the camp.
