RESEARCH OF SOLUTION OF CONFLICT SITUATIONS AS PART OF SELF-DEFENCE THEORY IN COMPOSITE PROJECT
Original language description
The COMPOSITE project (Comparative Police Study in the EU) deals with the processes of changes in many aspects. Individual research teams have identified various changes in ten European countries, such as structural, procedural, cultural, personnel and the like. Czech targeted study deals with the behavioural change. An important characteristic of the municipal police is its close relationship to citizens and work according to the principles of community policing. In 2012, SoCon survey was piloted in both municipal and state police. Research team learned, that surprisingly only few police officers was formally educated in community policing. Despite that they incline to solve verbal conflicts without violence. From kinanthropology point of view, policeofficers are uncertain in using coercive means as they lack physical preparation especially against serious attacks.
