Pregnancy is a specific phase in the course of women’s lives, which has a considerable influence on the distribution of plantar pressures which are influencedb by several factors: the increasing weight gain, changes in the distribution of body mass, changes in walking stereotype, the shape of the foot. The purpose of this research was to demonstrate and measure changes in plantar pressures, particularly the changes in the values of the maximal pressures and the changes in the values of the total load in selected areas of the foot during and after pregnancy. The article is focused on plantography and its application in a research on the influence of pregnancy and postpartum weight loss on changes in the distribution of plantar pressure during walking.
