Comparison of Student Performance at the University of Defence in Three Endurance Tests
Original language description
This study examined aerobic endurance in military university students by comparing performance in three commonly used endurance tests: the 12-minute Cooper run, a 12-minute rowing ergometer test, and a 6-minute rowing ergometer test. Sex-based differences and modality-specific relationships were analyzed in a large cohort of physically active students. The results confirmed substantial sex differences across all tests and demonstrated only modest associations between running and rowing performance, indicating that these modalities assess distinct aspects of aerobic fitness. The findings support sex-specific evaluation standards and caution against the interchangeable use of running and rowing tests in military fitness assessment.
