WITHIN THE INTERNATIONAL MORTGAGE LOAN CRISIS THE POSITION OF GERMAN BANKS AND ISNURANCES
Original language description
The summer of the year 2007 stands for the outburst of the US-American subprime mortgage loan crisis which almost instantaneously triggered severe international financial turbulences. As it seems, via interpolated assed-backed transactions, German bankshave taken an above average portion of that subprime cake so that several of them were and still are severely hit by the financial turmoil. For instance, in the case of the bank IKB, it was only political intervention that prevented the collapse of the institute. If it comes to German insurance companies, however, things look different: Even though engaged (among other investments) in said US mortgage loans, no German insurance company has until now reported existential threats.
