The aim of the paper is to evaluate the process of rent control liberalization in the Czech Republic. Based on EU-SILC micro data for the Czech Republic we will formulate what the social status of household living in rent controlled housing is. The second part uses a micro-simulation model as a tool for discovering potential economic effects on Czech households.
