  • Original language description

Paper is focused on the housing affordability progress in the Czech Republic during last years and mainly on the impact of the process of rent deregulation. Rent control used to be well founded during the transformation period in the early 90?s, and evenwe can say that the process of rent deregulation was originally ?softly-softly?, finally it has accelerated after 2007. This cause a situation, in which many tenants face increased cost of living. The outcomes of our paper answers to the question what was the pace of rent deregulation in the Czech Republic within relevant housing tenure groups. Our research is based on EU-SILC micro data for the Czech Republic in 2006 ? 2009 which monitor cost connected with living. In the paper we build set of the indicators which allow us to assess the pace of the rent deregulation process within 2007 and 2009.
