Mixed System: Transformation and Current Trends in the Provision of Local Public Services in the Czech and Slovak Republics
Original language description
This chapter contributes to the debate about the transformation and the recent modes of local public service provision in two selected new EU member states: the Czech Republic and Slovakia. These two countries have a long common history which invites their comparative analysis. The chapter focus is 1948 to 2015, including two main periods: the socialist era from 1948 to 1989 and the transformation of the municipal service system after 1989.
