This was the 3rd conference in a series of three on the theme of the interaction of nucleic acids with innate immunity and newly genome defence. The aim of the conference series was bring together researchers in the fields of immunology, genome defence, innate immune nucleic acid sensing and enzymatic modification of both DNA and RNA. There also was a medical perspective, discussing how the lack of certain modifications leading to aberrant innate immune recognition of nucleic acids results in disease.
