Stealing the Baby from the Crib: The Burden of Scottish History and Cultural Misrepresentation
Original language description
Expression of Scottish national identity in Scottish literary tradition has long been formulated through the often distorted and distorting images of historical and cultural misrepresentation. The chapter explores the ways in which this burden of historyhas been confronted and subverted by some modern Scottish authors, making references to the characteristics of "minor literatures" as defined by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari.
