Original language description
The contribution deals with Jan Amos Komenský and his letter to the Sultan Mehmed IV “Bibliorum Turcicorum dedicatio”. This letter was intended to be placed at the beginning of a Turkish translation of the Bible. Komenský believed in Christianization of Muslims. He wished them to read biblical books as original sources of the quranic doctrine. His letter is an appeal for tolerance between Muslims and Christians which should be the prelude to universal peace, unification and salvation.
