13C NMR spectra of more than thirty monosubstituted naphthalenecarboxylic acids have been measured. The substituent-induced chemical shifts (SCSľs) of carboxylic carbon atoms have been correlated with dissociation constants of naphthoic acids in DMSO forcomparison of substituent effects on dissociation and on 13C NMR.
