Využití HPLC v monitorování méně známých rizikových faktorů aterosklerózy
Original language description
Several clinical studies have indicated that high plasma concentration of the sulphur aminoacid homocysteine is an independent risk factor for origin and progress of atherosclerosis. Increased levels of total plasma homocysteine can be treated with vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid. The most frequent methods for determination of total plasma homocysteine are immunochemical and HPLC methods. We have chosen an ion-paired reversed-phase HPLC method with coulometric electrochemical detection, without time-consuming derivatization. Oxidation of LDL is important event in etherosclerosis. Reduced form of coenzyme Q10 protects LDL from oxidative damage. We have measured reduced and oxidized forms of coenzyme Q10 using HPLC with coulometric electrochemical detection too.
