The Influence of Na+, Mg2+ and Al3+ on the Zeta-potential of Titanium Dioxide Dispersion and Its Microfiltration Process

  • Original language description

Effects of inorganic salts on ceramic membrane microfiltration of TiO2 suspensions were studied. A series of crossflow microfiltration experiments were carried out at various pH values, ionic strengths and with various multivalent inorganic salts. Filtration behaviours were analyzed based on measurements of particle size distribution of the TiO2 suspension, zeta potential of alumina membrane and TiO2 particle. Results showed that inorganic solution salts affect the microfiltration of TiO2 suspension bychanging the surface properties of both the alumina membrane and TiO2 particle. The solution environments affect the dispersion of TiO2 particles and played a major role in the filtration flux. The aim of this work is measuring of the intensity of permeate flux as a function of pH, various inorganic salts, salt concentration, and the study of the influence of these parameters on the separation efficiency, respectively.

Vliv Na+, Mg2+ and Al3+ na zeta-potenciál disperzí oxidu titaničitého a průběh mikrofiltrace těchto disperzí.

  • Czech description

Práce se zabývá studiem mikrofiltračního procesu oxidu titaničitého. Byla provedena řada experimentů -měněným parametrem byly následující veličiny: pH, iontová síla různých solí. Průběh mikrofiltrace byl analyzován na základě znalosti distribuce velikosti částic TiO2 a zeta potenciálu částic disperze a membrány. Výsledky prokázaly, že použité anorganické soli ovlivňují disperzi TiO2 a tím i průběh mikrofiltračního procesu.
