Methods for Halftone Prints Quality Investigation
Original language description
The quality specifications over last decade of years became more demanding. Traditional methods such as optical density measurement are no longer sufficient for comparison among often very similar products and new or alternative techniques all having it's advantages and limitations are examined. This study compares usage and results of photoacoustics and image analysis assessment of halftone prints with conventional densitometric evaluation. Photoacoustics brings dot area values corresponding to Murray-Davies equation together with information related to substrate characteristics. Results of image analysis method used correlated well with those calculated according Yule-Nielsen formula with n = 2.
